One HACS package: HA integration + Lovelace card

Your home, alive on one floor plan

House Plan is a single HACS package: a Home Assistant integration with server-side storage and a WebSocket API, plus a Lovelace card. Draw the plan with your mouse right on the dashboard — no YAML, no Inkscape, no external editors — and watch lights, climate, sensors, robot vacuums and the sun itself live on it.

Features

Everything on the plan, everything by mouse

GUI-first from the first click: the plan is configured right on the dashboard, and the layout lives on the Home Assistant server.

GUI-first editors

Rooms as polygons with islands and virtual walls, doors and windows, a decor layer — all drawn with the mouse. Alignment helper, ruler in meters or feet. Upload a picture of your plan or draw from scratch.

Lights that answer

Toggle a light with a click — a yellow underlay means it is shining right now. Group lamps behind “dumb” wall switches so the plan shows what actually burns.

Room climate

Temperature and humidity per room with a comfort-colored fill — one glance tells you where it is stuffy or damp.

Zigbee signal map

See LQI link quality right on the plan and find the dead corners of your mesh.

Alarms you can't miss

Leak and smoke sensors pulse red on the plan the moment something goes wrong.

Safe tap actions

Info, more-info, toggle, or run an automation, script or scene — with confirmation. Locks and garage doors never fire from an accidental tap.

Virtual devices

Add icons for things Home Assistant doesn't know — a boiler, a filter — with descriptions, links and PDF manuals. The plan becomes your home's knowledge base.

One plan for every screen

The layout is stored on the Home Assistant server: one plan for all screens and users, synced live. Multi-floor, English and Russian included.

The sun, on time

A compass sets your north, and the plan breathes with the day: real sunlight falls through the windows of exterior walls and moves across the floor exactly as the sun moves outside.

A canvas without edges

Draw past the frame — the canvas is endless and the view gathers itself around your rooms. Move and scale a photo of your floor plan underneath, and resize rooms with live dimensions while shared walls follow along.

Your colors, your night

Give a floor or a single room a colour of its own, choose the background, and switch the night glow on independently of what the fill is showing. Overlapping pools of light add up the way real light does.

Signature mode

Light by sources

The default mode and the visiting card of House Plan. The house goes dark — and every lamp that is on casts a pool of light in its own color.

Light spills through open doorways, so the plan reads like your real house at night: you see not just which lamps are on, but where the light actually reaches.

Reworked in v1.61

Robot vacuums, live

The dock marker stays put while a round puck drives across the plan in real time, pouring its path out from under itself.

The current and the previous cleaning are stored on the server. Calibration takes one click — by room names — or just drag the ghost of the robot's own map into place. When a robot exposes several map sources, House Plan says what it found and lets you choose.

Wall tablets & TVs

Kiosk mode

A full-screen plan for wall panels: swipe between floors or let the auto-carousel cycle them for you.

Every screen keeps its own icon sizes, so the same plan looks right both on a 7-inch tablet by the door and on the living-room TV.

Real screens

Not a mockup — this is the card

House Plan at night: rooms go dark and every lamp that is on pours a warm pool of light onto the floor plan
Night, light by sources Lamps that are on pour warm pools onto the plan, and the light spills through open doorways.
House Plan by day: a floor with 50 devices, room temperature and humidity right on the plan
One floor, 50 devices Rooms carry their own temperature and humidity; every device sits where it really is.
House Plan editor: drawing room outlines with the mouse on a grid, no YAML
You draw it yourself Room outlines are drawn with the mouse on a grid — right on the dashboard, without YAML.

Built in the open, tested hard

House Plan is MIT-licensed open source. Every release runs the full suite, a 32-scene visual golden matrix and a performance budget gate — and then goes through an independent adversarial audit.
